The Macedonian tourist visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Macedonia for tourism, sightseeing, vacation or other leisure activities. The Kenyan passport used for the visa application must have at least 1 blank visa page and a minimum of 3 months validity beyond the fate of your planned exit from Macedonia. You are required to make a copy of your passport’s data page.  Visa application form must be accurately filled and signed by the applicant. You should note that an incomplete form might delay the processing of your visa application. You should also submit a passport-size photo (3.5x4.5cm) that meets the passport photo specification(s) with your completed visa application form. A letter of invitation from your host in Macedonia must be submitted.  Without an invite, you should submit a notarized letter of guarantee certified by a certified authority in Macedonia. As proof that you can cater for your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Macedonia, you are required to provide your most recent bank account statements or a credit card. Kenyans who intend to travel to Macedonia for business purposes (business meetings, conferences, trade fairs, etc.) are eligible to apply for the business visa. A valid Kenyan passport with at least 3 months validity beyond the date you intend to leave Macedonia is needed for your visa application. You are required to present a notarized letter of invitation from your host in Macedonia (partner company). If there exist previous trade relations between your company and the partner company, such as bills of lading, payment receipts for goods delivered or such documents, you should provide these documents. A business letter from your employer, written on the company’s letterhead and signed by an authorised officer in your company should also be presented. The letter should state your full name, your position in the company, the purpose of your travel and how long your trip should take. The letter should also state the awareness of your leave and when you are expected to resume back to work as well as a guarantee that the company will cover all your travel expenses. A travel medical insurance for Macedonia showing coverage for the entire duration of your stay in the country must be presented. A copy of your hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in Macedonia should be submitted. The Macedonian business visa allows a stay of up to 90 days after which you are expected to leave the country. Failure to do this could attract penalties.

The Macedonian work visa is a long-stay visa (Visa D) that is issued to foreign nationals for the following reasons: employment or self-employment  attending school or studies participation in international student/pupil exchange programs specialization, vocational education, or practical training scientific research medical treatment family reunification humanitarian grounds The long-stay visa is valid for 6 months but allows a maximum stay of 30 days. This means that you can use this visa to enter Macedonia once within 6 months from the day it was issued but cannot stay in the country for more than 30 days. If issued the long-stay visa for one of the above reasons, you are required to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 5 days of your entry into Macedonia where you will be issued a temporary residence permit within 25 days from the day you report (that is, before your visa expires). To apply for the long-stay visa, you must accurately complete and sign the long-stay visa application form and submit it with a colored passport photo taken with a white background.  To apply for a temporary residence permit, your application should be submitted to the diplomatic/consular mission of the Republic of Macedonia in your country, a diplomatic/consular mission with which Macedonia has a joint representation agreement or the Macedonian mission in the nearest country. The following documents are required with your application for a temporary residence permit: proof of sufficient funds to cater to your financial needs while in Macedonia. Evidence of accommodation or means to secure accommodation in Macedonia. A travel medical insurance covering the entire duration of your stay in Macedonia is required. Evidence that you satisfy the condition to be eligible for a temporary residence permit, such as a work permit, letter of admission (for students), proof of language skills, contract for scientific research or any such supporting document. A Kenyan passport valid for at least three months longer than your intended stay in Macedonia. You should note that the application for the temporary residence permit should be made before travelling to Macedonia although the permit will be issued when you get to the country.
