The Tourist Visa is for Kenyans visiting Turkey for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation purposes. Some of the applicants of this visa may have been invited by a friend or relative who lives in the country. If you have been invited by a friend or relative in Turkey, an invitation letter from your host is required. On the letter of invitation from your host, the valid home address and telephone number of the host should be clearly stated. If you are employed, a letter of confirmation of employment and salary statements for the last three months is required. For those that are self-employed, as the director, you should write a visa requisition letter on company letterhead. The Business License, Certificate of Business Registration, Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum and Article of Association of the business should be provided. The holders of the Tourist Visa are not permitted to be enrolled in one of the institutions of learning in the country. There are two categories of the Tourist Visa; Single-entry and Multiple-entry. The multiple-entry visa cannot be issued to first-time travelers. You can attend festivals and events during your time in the country. Non-Kenyans should ensure they submit a copy of their residence permit in Kenya. Minors should ensure they have the original copy of their birth certificate during the visa application process. A notarized letter of consent signed by applicants’ parent should be provided if they are under the age of 18 years. A document that proves that you have the incentive of returning to your country should be provided. Proof of paid visa application fee is required. If you are below the age of 30 years, a certificate of good conduct is required. You are expected to obey the terms of your visa.

Those who intend to engage in business activities during their time in Turkey are the eligible applicants of this visa. Foreigners who hold this visa can negotiate and sign business contracts with their partner companies in the country. Business travelers can attend conferences, business summits, and trade fairs while they are in Turkey. If you are employed, you are required to present a letter from your current employer in Kenya stating the allowance and awareness of your business leave. Your status in the company and the duration of your visit should be clearly stated in the letter. A letter of invitation from the host company should be provided. The name of the company, the address of the company, and the telephone number of the company should be written in the letter. The purpose of your trip should be included in the letter. If the company in Turkey or your employer will be responsible for your finances for the period you will be in the country, it should be stated in the letter of invitation. If you are self-employed, the Business License, Certificate of Business Registration, Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum and Article of Association of the business should be provided. Applicants that are below the age of 30 years should provide a certificate of good conduct. Proof of prior business dealings between you and the company in Turkey should be provided if any. Kenyans who have been invited by more than one host in the country must obtain a separate letter of invitation from each host. Foreigners are to provide proof that they have the incentive of returning to their home country at the expiry of their visa. Either the single-entry Business Visa or the multiple-entry visa is issued to applicants. The multiple-entry visa cannot be issued to first-time applicants. Students who intend taking a part-time or full-time course in one of the schools in Turkey are the eligible candidates of this visa. Applicants of this visa should ensure they have been offered admission into the school they applied for before applying for the visa. The original admission letter written on the school’s letterhead should be provided. This proof that you have been offered admission into the school and you can attend classes. Certificates and transcripts gotten from previously attended schools should be submitted during the visa application process. Proof that you have paid the tuition fee for the school should be provided. International students are permitted to work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when the school is on break. If you are a minor, the original copy of your birth certificate should be made available. Also, a notarized letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided. An extension to this visa can be granted to cover the duration of your study program in the country. Applicants of the visa should ensure they have been offered employment by a Turkish company before they start the visa application process.
