The Iraqi tourist visa is issued to Kenyans who have the intention of visiting Iraq for sightseeing, relaxation, recreation, and pilgrimage. This visa is a single-entry visa, and it is valid for 30 days. Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals need to be applied inside Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicant, then the consulate will issue the visa directly. For groups of 5 people or more, the visa must be applied through the Iraqi tourist companies which are contracted with the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism. Travelers are required to provide approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department. It is important that visitors acquire a residency stamp within their first seven days in the country.   There is a high-cost penalty for visitors who do not obtain the required residency stamp. Immunization records are required by travelers upon arrival to Iraq.  Iraq has imposed HIV/AIDS travel restrictions on all visitors and new residents, they must have an HIV blood test during their first seven days in country or face a fine. The emergency line in Iraq is “130” from both mobile and fixed line telephones. Please note that responders do not speak English. You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned. Customs officers have the authority to search travelers and their belongings at Iraqi ports of entry. Officers may confiscate any goods they deem may pose a threat to the peace, security, health, environment, or social order of Iraq.  Basic, modern medical care and medicines are not widely available in Iraq. Travelers are advised to bring their own medications and have it declared.

The Iraqi business visa enables Kenyans to engage in business activities whilst they are in Iraq. There are two types of Iraqi business visa: Single-entry visa: this visa is valid for three months. Multiple-entry visa: this visa is valid for six months to one year. A letter from your employer in Kenya addressed to the Consulate of Iraq stating the nature of the business to be conducted, as well as, the name of the company you will be conducting business with. An official letter of invitation from your partner company in Iraq  written on the company’s letterhead and stating the purpose,  and duration of the applicants' visit. The letter must contain the following: Nature of business to be performed. Name and address of reference to be visited. The letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required. Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit. The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant. If the Iraqi company is going to be responsible for your expenses in the country, it should be stated in the invitation letter. Certificate of business registration of the company you are visiting in Iraq. Medical report is required to be submitted for business visa for Iraq for the Tests of CBC, HIV, hepatitis and Vaccination of malaria.

Applicants of this visa intend to work in Iraq. Kenyans who intend to apply for this visa should ensure they have been given a contract by the Iraqi company they intend to work for. An official letter from your employer in Iraq stating that you have been offered employment should be provided. The name of the company, address of the company and your job position should be included in the letter. The applicants' employment contract should state they will not be paid below the official minimum wage of the country. Kenyans are required to present a copy of their stay permit in the country. Applicants should ensure they have been vaccinated against yellow fever. Also, immunization against malaria is necessary. Proof that you have made payment for the visa application. Foreigners applying for this visa are required to have a clean criminal record. A previously convicted criminal may not be issued this visa. A document which shows that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.

The transit visa is issued to Kenyans who intend to make stop-overs in Iraq. Applicants of this visa can make stops at an Iraqi airport and board a connecting flight to their destination country. Kenyans should have the visa and other entry permits to their destination country. Flight ticket to your destination country should also be provided. If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided. Applicants who are traveling without their parents or with one of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
