Tourist Visa from Kenya to Iraq Description

  • The Iraqi tourist visa is issued to Kenyans who have the intention of visiting Iraq for sightseeing, relaxation, recreation, and pilgrimage.
  • This visa is a single-entry visa, and it is valid for 30 days.
  • Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals need to be applied inside Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicant, then the consulate will issue the visa directly.
  • For groups of 5 people or more, the visa must be applied through the Iraqi tourist companies which are contracted with the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism.
  • Travelers are required to provide approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department.
  • It is important that visitors acquire a residency stamp within their first seven days in the country.  There is a high-cost penalty for visitors who do not obtain the required residency stamp.
  • Immunization records are required by travelers upon arrival to Iraq.
  •  Iraq has imposed HIV/AIDS travel restrictions on all visitors and new residents, they must have an HIV blood test during their first seven days in country or face a fine.
  • The emergency line in Iraq is “130” from both mobile and fixed line telephones. Please note that responders do not speak English.
  • You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
  • Customs officers have the authority to search travelers and their belongings at Iraqi ports of entry. Officers may confiscate any goods they deem may pose a threat to the peace, security, health, environment, or social order of Iraq. 
  • Basic, modern medical care and medicines are not widely available in Iraq. Travelers are advised to bring their own medications and have it declared. 

Tourist Visa from Kenya to Iraq Requirements

  • A Kenyan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs (2 x 2” dimension) taken in white background.
  • Travel document.
  • Proof of financial support.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Medical Insurance.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
