Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Germany

  • Kenyan passport with a validity of 3 months after the intended date of exit from the country. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps.
  • Duly completed visa application form which has been signed where necessary.
  • One biometric passport-size photograph taken with a white background. The passport must not be older than 3 months old.

Kenyans who intend applying for the tourist visa do so with the intention of visiting Germany for sightseeing, relaxation and recreation purposes. This visa also allows foreigners to visit friends and relatives in the country. Kenyans who are in the country to visit friends and relatives should provide a letter of invitation from their host. The home address and telephone number of the host should be clearly stated in the letter. Applicants are to submit their passport which has a validity of at least six months from the proposed date of travel. copies of previous visas should also be submitted. A travel health insurance that covers the applicants duration of stay should be submitted or its equivalent of 30,000 euros. The applicants of this visa are business-oriented travelers who have the intention of meeting with partners to discuss working relations between them. Holders of this visa can attend conferences, meetings, business summits, and trade fairs whilst they are in the country. A letter of invitation from your business partner in Germany should be provided. The address of the company, duration, and purpose of the meeting should be stated in details in the letter. The certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting up with should be provided. Your employer in Kenya should provide a letter stating they are aware of your business leave. The reason for your visit and how long you will be staying in the country should be indicated in the letter. If you have had previous dealings with the company you are meeting with, you are required to provide proof of this. Kenyans who apply for the medical visa are usually referred for advanced medical treatment in Germany. During the visa application process, you are required to present a referral letter from your local physician with your medical diagnosis. Your physician should also provide a valid reason why the illness cannot be treated in Kenya. This visa does not allow its applicants to take up permanent residence in the country. Whilst in the country with this visa, you are not allowed to take up part-time or full-time courses in any of the schools. You are not permitted to be employed during your time in the country. The student visa is for foreigners who have applied and have been admitted to study in one of the schools in the country. A letter of admission from the school you have been enrolled in must be provided before this visa will be issued to you.
