The United Kingdom comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. To visit any of these four countries, you would need a UK tourist visa. The UK tourist visa is also called a standard visitor visa. The United Kingdom tourist visa is valid for six months. The Standard Visitor Visa covers for the following visa: Family Visitor visa. General Visitor visa. Child Visitor visa. Business Visitor visa, including visas for academics, doctors and dentists. Sports Visitor visa. Entertainer Visitor visa. Prospective Entrepreneur visa. Private Medical Treatment Visitor visa. Approved Destination Status (ADS) visa. If you have a medical condition that could have a bearing on your eligibility for a visa, bring a letter from your physician which discusses your current state of health. If you’re studying a short course and are over 18 years old, you may be eligible for the  short-term study visa .
