The visa is issued to foreigners who are entering the country for recreational, sports, health, short studies, business, family, religious or other similar purposes without immigration purposes. The Tourist Visa does not allow Kenyans to take up permanent residence in the country. The Chilean tourist visa can not be issued on arrival. The Chilean work visa is issued to Kenyans who are travelling to Chile for work purposes. This visa allows Kenyans to travel to Chile to take up paid work. The Work Visa has a maximum duration of two years. The Chilean work visa must be sponsored by a registered Chilean company. There is also the resident visa subject to dependent contract, it is granted to the family members of the owner of a Work Visa, with a similar duration and does not allow work. A letter from the employer in Chile directed to the Consulate of Chile that justifies the hiring of the applicant. A letter from your employer in Chile should be sent to the Chilean consulate justifying your employment. A copy of the applicants work contract with the Chilean company should be submitted(it should be notarized and translated).  A police report showing that the applicant does not have any criminal record should be submitted. The employer should provide a proof that there was no Chilean qualified and willing to take the job being offered. This visa is granted to Kenyans who intend to travel to Chile in order to study as a regular student in state educational establishments o individuals recognized by the latter. This visa allows its holders to stay in the country for a maximum period of one year and in the case of scholarship holders, for the duration of the scholarship. A letter of acceptance from the institution which you have being offered admission should be submitted. The letter should state the course you have been offered and the duration of the study is required. Certificate of criminal background should be submitted.  The chilean it costs $131 to process this visa. The Chilean student visa is valid for a minimum of 6 months and needs to be renewed after a year. Usually, applicants will receive the outcome of their application within 14 to 20 working days. Applicants must possess a valid passport. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of departure from Chile. Applicants are to submit their visa application form. The form must be filled in English, and typed—not handwritten. A visa request letter from the agency arranging the exchange (if applicable)should be submitted. This letter must provide the full name of the applicant, details of the school to be attended, details of placement in Chile and name of the agency's contact person in Chile. A contagious diseases-clearance certificate is to be submitted to the embassy. This certificate must be signed by a registered medical practitioner and must be issued within 30 days prior to the date of application. The certificate has to confirm that you are free from any contagious diseases/ illnesses before traveling to Chile. This is just a regular medical check (done with blood and urine samples, no x-rays) to ensure you have no contagious diseases. Applicants under the age of 18 years are to provide the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate. If you are traveling with one or none of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents is required. International students are allowed to work part-time when school is in session and full-time when on break. Proof of paid visa application fee should be submitted by applicant. Applicants are required to have a document which proves that they have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.
