Applicants of this visa intend to visit Cyprus for tourism purposes. Kenyans with the intention of visiting friends and relatives in Cyprus can do so using this visa. An invitation letter from your host in Cyprus is required. The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter, as well as a valid means of identification. You cannot study in one of the schools in the country with this visa. If there are festivals and events that interest you in the country, you are free to attend. The Cyprus tourist visa application can be submitted  at the Cyprus embassy/consulate in Nairobi or  by recorded delivery enclosing a registered self-addressed special delivery envelope for the safe return of the passport and the documents. Provisional Books or Itinerary of travel arrangements (Round trip ticket with fixed dates) is a must. Ticket should not be purchased before the visa is issued. The Consulate may also ask for a copy of a Bank Guarantee Letter from the host, throughout a visitor's stay in Cyprus, so as to cover the possible cost of repatriation. A letter from your current employer in Kenya is required. Your employer should confirm awareness of your leave of absence. The period of absence from work should be included in the letter. A copy of Kenyan stay permit of non-Kenyans is required during the application process. Original copy of minors’ birth certificate is required. If they are not traveling with their parents, a notarized parental authorization signed by both parents should be provided. A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to Kenya is required. Receipt of payment of visa application fee is required. A solid proof of financial sufficiency in form of bank statement or travel cheque should be submitted.  Applicants are to submit proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers duration of stay. Foreigners with this visa are prohibited from taking up paid or unpaid employment. Kenyans cannot seek public funds in the country. Pension statement from the last 6 months should be presented for retirees. Proof of clean criminal record is required.

Kenyans traveling for business purposes are the main applicants of this visa. Business travelers are able to meet up with their partners in the country to negotiate and sign business contracts. While you are in the country you can attend trade fairs and conferences. An invitation letter from the company in Cyprus you will be visiting and their details. The address of the company and the dates of the visit should be clearly stated in the letter. If the company in Cyprus will be responsible for your expenses in the country, it should be stated in the invitation letter. Your employer should provide a letter stating awareness and allowance of your business travel to Cyprus. The reason for your travel should be clearly stated in the letter. If you have previously been in business with the company you are meeting up with, proof of this is required. Original copy of memorandum and article of association of the Cypriot company should be submitted. Trade license of the company should be provided. Applicants who are not citizens of Kenya should provide a copy of their stay permit in Kenya. Proof of payment of application fee is required. Proof of clean criminal record should be presented. Kenyans are expected to exit the country at the expiry of their visa.

This visa allows Kenyans to receive medical treatment for whatever condition they have in Cyprus. A medical report issued by a hospital in Kenya describing your ailment and the reason it is best treated in Cyprus is required. A document which confirms the appointment of treatment by the medical institution in Cyprus should be submitted. The confirmation should be accompanied by the duration of the treatment. Certificate of employment from your employer in Kenya including information on leave of absence must be submitted. Proof that the applicant has sufficient financial means to pay for medical bills and other expenses that may arise throughout their treatment. Minors must ensure they possess the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling alone or with one of their parents, a document of consent which is signed by both parents of the minor should be provided. Holders of this visa are not allowed to work while in the country. You are expected to leave the country after your treatment has been completed. Holders are not allowed to take up permanent residence in the country. Receipt of paid visa application fee is required. Before you will be issued this visa, you must have a clean criminal record.

Applicants of this visa are students who have the intention of studying in Cyprus. Before this visa is issued, a letter of acceptance from the school should be submitted. An enrollment certificate allowing attendance of courses in Cyprus is required. Holders of this visa should be in possession of the relevant permit issued by the Civil Archive and Migration Department. The student visa is issued for a specific educational institution. In case of Kenyans deciding to change an educational institution, one must then obtain a new residence permit. Kenyans on the students visa are not permitted to work. Exceptions are made by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for certain courses for which working permits may be issued to enable practical training during the summer vacations. The Cyprus study visa is only issued to Kenyans who intend to study full time.  A full-time student is one who takes a minimum of 12 credits in a semester. The Kenyan student has the right to invite to Cyprus his/her friends and relatives from abroad as guests under condition he/she can secure a bank deposit of 300 Cyprus Pound for each invited person. Certificates and transcripts of applicants’ previous schools should be submitted. Non-Kenyans should submit a copy of their stay permit in Kenya. While in the country, you are allowed to work part-time. This visa can be extended to cover the duration of your study in the country. If you are under 18 years, a letter of authorization signed by both your parents is required. Also, the original copy of your birth certificate should be presented. Applicants of this visa are expected to present a proof of clean criminal record. Receipt of paid visa application form is required. The visa costs €75.

This visa is for diplomats visiting Cyprus for diplomatic duties. A diplomatic note from the Kenyan government is required. The note should state your status in government, as well as the duration, and purpose of your visit to the country. An invitation letter from the Cypriot government is required. Those who are eligible for this visa are Heads of States, Consular officers, ministers, and African Union representatives. If the purpose of your visit to the country is non-official you will not be issued this visa. Only Heads of States are exempt from this. Application form of minors should be signed by both their parents. The original copy of their birth certificate should be tendered during the visa application process. You are permitted to attend meetings and conferences in the country. Evidence on the purpose of the journey which includes negotiations, meetings, event by intergovernmental organizations and consultations should be presented. Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up a course of study or be paid for services they render in the country. Diplomats are required to present a valid means of identification.

Kenyans intending to make short stops in Cyprus can do so with this visa. This visa allows Kenyans to alight from an airplane in a Cypriot airport and board another flight going to their destination. Flight ticket of your destination country should be presented during visa application. The visa of your destination country must be provided. This visa may be issued for one transit, or exceptionally for several transits. Cyprus also issues a group transit visa with has a maximum validity of 30 days. The group visa is issued, provided that the members of the group enter the territory, stay there and leave it as a group. Group visas may be issued to groups of between 5 and 50 people. The person in charge of the group should possess an individual passport and, where necessary, an individual visa. If you are under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be provided. Only travelers with a clean criminal record will be issued this visa. Receipt of payment of visa application fee is required. You are not allowed to study while you are in the country. Proof of that you have the incentive to return to your country after your visa has expired. The visa is valid for 5 days. You are required to exit the country before the expiry of your visa. The transit visa cannot be extended.
