Applicants of this visa intend to visit Cyprus for tourism purposes. Kenyans with the intention of visiting friends and relatives in Cyprus can do so using this visa. An invitation letter from your host in Cyprus is required. The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter, as well as a valid means of identification. You cannot study in one of the schools in the country with this visa. If there are festivals and events that interest you in the country, you are free to attend. The Cyprus tourist visa application can be submitted  at the Cyprus embassy/consulate in Nairobi or  by recorded delivery enclosing a registered self-addressed special delivery envelope for the safe return of the passport and the documents. Provisional Books or Itinerary of travel arrangements (Round trip ticket with fixed dates) is a must. Ticket should not be purchased before the visa is issued. The Consulate may also ask for a copy of a Bank Guarantee Letter from the host, throughout a visitor's stay in Cyprus, so as to cover the possible cost of repatriation. This visa allows Kenyans to receive medical treatment for whatever condition they have in Cyprus. A medical report issued by a hospital in Kenya describing your ailment and the reason it is best treated in Cyprus is required. A document which confirms the appointment of treatment by the medical institution in Cyprus should be submitted. The confirmation should be accompanied by the duration of the treatment. Certificate of employment from your employer in Kenya including information on leave of absence must be submitted. Applicants of this visa are students who have the intention of studying in Cyprus. Before this visa is issued, a letter of acceptance from the school should be submitted. An enrollment certificate allowing attendance of courses in Cyprus is required. Holders of this visa should be in possession of the relevant permit issued by the Civil Archive and Migration Department. The student visa is issued for a specific educational institution. In case of Kenyans deciding to change an educational institution, one must then obtain a new residence permit. Kenyans on the students visa are not permitted to work. Exceptions are made by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for certain courses for which working permits may be issued to enable practical training during the summer vacations. The Cyprus study visa is only issued to Kenyans who intend to study full time.  A full-time student is one who takes a minimum of 12 credits in a semester. The Kenyan student has the right to invite to Cyprus his/her friends and relatives from abroad as guests under condition he/she can secure a bank deposit of 300 Cyprus Pound for each invited person. Certificates and transcripts of applicants’ previous schools should be submitted. Non-Kenyans should submit a copy of their stay permit in Kenya. While in the country, you are allowed to work part-time. This visa can be extended to cover the duration of your study in the country. If you are under 18 years, a letter of authorization signed by both your parents is required. Also, the original copy of your birth certificate should be presented. This visa is for diplomats visiting Cyprus for diplomatic duties. A diplomatic note from the Kenyan government is required.
