The tourist visa is for those traveling to the Czech Republic to relax, sightseeing, and recreational purposes. This visa can also serve as a visitor visa. If you have friends and relatives in the country, you can visit them with this visa. Original passport of  the applicant which has a validity of 3 months after the intended date of exit from the country should be submitted. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps and must have been issued within the last 10 years. Application for this visa can be done 3 months but not later than 15 days before the intended date of travel. A letter of invitation from your host in the country should be provided if you are visiting a relative. The home address, telephone number and a valid means of identification of your host should be provided. The letter  of invitation must be verified by the Czech Alien Police Inspectorate. If you are visiting a relative in the country, you are required to show proof of family ties. Kenyans who are employed should have a letter from their employer stating approval of their leave and how long the leave is for. For applicants who are self employed a copy of their Kenyan pin certificate and most recent tax payment certificate should be submitted. In cases of organised tourism, proof of booking of organized trip from host company (i.e. voucher) should be submitted.If the confirmation of booking does not include proof of prepayment; proof of pre-/down-payment is required. A copy of air tickets reservations including return tickets is to be submitted to the embassy. sometimes the original copy might be requested. proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be provided. proof of financial sufficiency in for of bank statement or travellers cheque that covers the duration of stay  should be submitted. Applicants of this visa should be able to provide proof of being able to afford a minimum of 1100 CZK every day of their stay in the country if the total duration of their visit is not more than 30 days. If their stay in the Czech Republic is going to be for more than 30 days, they should be able to afford 33000 CZK.  Applicants travelling with minors are to submit a copy of the original birth certificate of the minor along side a written consent letter from either one or both parents of the minor.
