Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Egypt

  • Passport with a validity of six months from the intended date of travel. The passport should have at least two blank space and must not be torn or altered in any way.

  • A completed visa application form signed by the applicant.

  • Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) taken on a white background.

  • Travel document should be completely provided.

  • Bank statement from the previous three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof that you are able to take care of yourself during your time in the country.

Kenyans with the intention of visiting Egypt to engage in sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation are eligible for this visa. Travelers who want to visit friends and relatives in Egypt may also do so using this visa. If you will be visiting someone in Egypt, a letter of invitation from your host in Egypt is required. The letter should contain information which include the host’s home address, telephone number, and a valid means of identification. Foreigners on this visa cannot take up a course to study in one of the institutions in the country. Applicants are to submit a valid passport that has a minimum validity of six months from the date of departure. The Egyptian tourist visa has a validity of 90 days. The processing time for this visa is 8 working days. Employed applicants are required to present a letter from their employer which states their position in the company, the duration of their employment, as well as the duration of their leave. Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months. For non-Kenyans applying for this visa, a copy of their residence permit in Kenya is required. Minors traveling without their parents or with one of their parents are required to have a copy of a letter of consent signed by both parents. The original copy of their birth certificate should also be provided during the visa application. Kenyans are requested to present a document which shows they have the incentive of returning to their country at the expiration of their visa. The business visa is for foreigners who intend to engage in business activities whilst in the country. Bearers of this visa are permitted to meet up with business partners, sign contracts and agreements. Applicants should have a passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Egypt with at least one blank page available for Egyptian visa stamp. Amendment pages at the back of the passport are not suitable for the visa stamp. Two copies of a business cover letter printed on the company letterhead from the company you are working with in Kenya. The cover letter should state their awareness of your leave, purpose and duration of stay. An official invitation letter from the Egyptian company you are meeting stating the purpose and duration of your visit should be provided. Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicants duration of stay should be submitted. If your finances will be taken care of by your employer or the partner company, it should be clearly stated in the letter of invitation. Proof of previous business dealings between the Egyptian country and the Kenyan country should be submitted. Proof of registration and receipt of paid fees for the registration of the conference should be made available for those who intend to attend conferences in Egypt. Certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting with should be provided. Applicants who own their own business should provide a copy of their income tax return for the last six months Receipt of paid visa application fees is required. Proof of incentive of returning to Kenya at the expiration of your visa should be submitted. International Certificate of Vaccination of yellow fever should be provided by applicant. Applicants are advised not to make the non-refundable expenses until their visa application is granted. Applicants are not allowed to overstay the length of their visa.
