The Tongan tourist visa allows Kenyans to visit Tonga for tourism purposes. Activities that can be carried out by Kenyans include sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
This visa also doubles as a visitor’s visa. If you intend to meet up with friends and relatives in the country, you can do so using this visa.
The tourist visa is valid for 30 days, but it is extendable for another 30 days with a fee.
There is no straight flight from Kenya to Tonga, so travelers have to make a stop at the north of Auckland, New Zealand. Then they board a three-hour flight from there to Tonga.
Tonga is a very religious country, with a good majority of the people practicing Christianity.

It is illegal for men or women to go topless in public.
Wearing black in Tonga means that you are in mourning, so it’s wise to avoid wearing this color if you’re not grieving.
Tourists are not allowed to travel to Tonga on a Sunday. Tonga follows the sabbath day rule very strictly.

Proof of a return ticket is required. The immigration officer might not allow you to enter the country without one.
You are subject to local laws while in Tonga. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested or imprisoned.
If traveling with prescription medication, check with the Ministry of Health to ensure the medication is legal and available in Tonga. Always carry your prescription medication in original packaging with your doctor’s prescription.
Anyone that breaches the Immigration Act may be prosecuted and subject to a term of imprisonment or fine or both.
