The Swedish work visa enables Kenyans visiting Sweden to take up paid employment in the country.
A work permit is required.
To qualify for a work permit, you must have received an official offer of employment from a Swedish employer. The job must also:
Have been advertised in the EU/EEA for at least ten days.
Offer terms of employment that match those set by Swedish collective agreements or those that are customary within the occupation or industry.
Pay a minimum monthly salary of SEK 13,000 before taxes.
Applicants must be between the age of 18 - 30 years before applying for the Swedish work visa.
Applicants of this visa should ensure they confirm their employment in Sweden before initiating the visa application process.
Letter from your employer confirming your employment in Sweden should be provided.
The company’s address and your job description should be stated in the letter.
Proof that you will not be paid below the minimum wage by your employer should be provided.
Foreigners in the country are expected to abide by all the rules guiding their visa.
Work Visa from Kenya to Sweden Requirements
Fully completed and signed visa application form
Two recently taken passport-size photographs (3.5x4.5cm), both taken within the last three months.
A valid Kenyan passport not older than 7 years, with at least six months validity beyond the date you plan to leave Sweden.
A travel insurance policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros, for the whole Schengen territory, in case of any medical emergency such as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death.
Proof of accommodation
Copy of return flight ticket
Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
