- Applicants of this visa have the intention of visiting Mali for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation and relaxation.
- You must have an original Kenyan passport with at least six-month validity remaining.
- Two passport photos with white background, taken within the last six months must be included in your documents.
- Kenyans who have been invited by friends and relatives to Mali are also eligible for this visa.
- If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host should be provided. Information on the letter from your host should include your host’s home address and telephone number.
- If you are not staying with a friend or family, a copy of confirmed hotel reservation is required. If staying in more than one hotel, please provide copies of each hotel reservations.
- You must have a reservation of flight itinerary under your name. The itinerary must show applicant's entry and exit flight plan.
- Holders of this visa can attend events and festivals taking place in the country while they are there.
- Minors traveling with one or none of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor. Also, the original copy of minor’s birth certificate should be submitted.
- Applicants are to provide proof that they will return to their country at the expiry of their visa.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.
- Kenyans who are in the country on this visa are not allowed to be gainfully employed.
- A copy of the Kenyan stay permit is required for non-Kenyans.
- Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to the country. Travelers must have a copy of International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) for yellow fever.
- Mali is not a very safe place for travelers. But if you decide to travel to Mali, here are some safety measures;
- Guard your wallets and your passport, whether you are in a crowded, open or deserted place.
- Be careful of thieves and pickpockets.
- Use all the available safety measures. Lock the doors and windows at all time, and set an alarm system.
- If you are asked to stop by the police, make sure you stop at well-lit areas or areas where other police officers are.
