Student Visa from Kenya to Iceland Description

The Iceland student visa enables Kenyans to visit Iceland to study in one of the institutions in the country.
You must ensure you have been accepted into one of the institutions of your choice in the country before applying for visa.
Students will need to apply for a residence permit before arriving in Iceland which can be done by contacting the Directorate of Immigration in Iceland or by notifying the nearest Icelandic embassy.
All students are required to apply for a Kennitala – an Icelandic ID/social security number - which is used for every day matters, such as opening a bank account.
Letter of acceptance from the institution in Iceland is required. This is proof that you can attend lectures and write exams at school.
If you are given a scholarship, you must provide the letter of sponsorship from the body that awarded the scholarship to you.
Students are required to provide medical insurance details.
Proof of financial support in the form of bank statements must be provided. Students are required to have at least ISK 180, 550/ EUR 1,434 per month.
Student visas in Iceland are flexible enough to allow students to apply for a work permit while they are engaged in their studies. Students are allowed to work 20 working hours per week.

Fully completed and signed visa application form
Two recently taken passport-size photographs (4.5x 3.5cm), both taken within the last three months.
A valid Kenyan passport not older than 7 years, with at least six months validity beyond the date you plan to leave Sweden.
A travel insurance policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros, for the whole Schengen territory, in case of any medical emergency such as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death.
Proof of accommodation.
Copy of return flight ticket.
Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
