Tourist Visa from Kenya to Ecuador

  • Kenyans applying for this visa have the intention of visiting Ecuador for the purpose of tourism and leisure.
  • The tourist  visa can also be referred to as a T-3 visa.
  • The validity of this visa is for 90 days.
  • Kenyans on the T-3 visa who may intend to stay beyond 90 days can either apply for another tourist visa ( Visitante Temporal or VT visa)or a resident visa. In both situation the application should be made before the expiration of the current visa.
  • The processing time for the T-3 visa is 14 days.
  • Applicants are to have a valid passport which has at least a six months validity from the date of departure.
  • Those visiting their friends and relatives in the country require a letter of invitation from their host. The letter should have the home address, telephone number, and valid means of identification of the host.
  • Foreigners in Ecuador on this visa are not allowed to enroll in any of the academic institutions in the country.
  • During your time in the country, you are allowed to attend festivals and events that are of interest to you.
  • Applicants are required to present a letter from their employers. The employer should state awareness of leave, terms of employment, length of employment and duration of the leave.
  • Proof of travel health insurance that covers duration of stay should be submitted.
  • Underage children are required to present the original copy of their birth certificate which carries their parent's name. Minor’s traveling with one or none of their parents should provide a notarized consent signed by both their parents.
  • It is essential you present a document which shows you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.
  • Proof of payment of visa application form is required.
  • Foreigners cannot be gainfully employed while they are in the country.
  • Kenyans are to provide a yellow fever vaccination certificate with is not later than one year before date of departure.
  • Overstaying is a grave offence and can amount to a fine of 2,000 dollars or more.
  • Applicants are to note that the granting of entry into Ecuador is at the discretion of the immigration inspector at the port entry irrespective of the applicant providing all the required documents.
