Tourist Visa from Kenya to Portugal
- The Schengen tourist visa is for Kenyans visiting Portugal for sightseeing, adventures and vacations.
- Portugal is part of the Schengen Area
which is made up of 26 European countries, so a Schengen visa is required.
- Tourists are required to register with Portuguese Immigration Service within three days of entering Portugal. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in an administrative offense punishable with a fine from €60 to €160.
- The currency used in Portugal is Euro.
- The following documents are also required:
- Two 35 mm x 45mm passport-sized photos with white background.
- Your original passport and copies of your previous visas.
- Proof of travel
insurance to cover you for the Schengen area.
- Cover
letter stating the purpose of your visit and itinerary that includes your activities, flight dates and times, entry and exit out of Portugal.
- Accommodation
plans for the duration of your stay. For example, hotel reservations.
- Proof
of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay. For example, records of bank statements for the last three months.
- Tourists and short-term visitors can drive in Portugal for up to six months using their foreign licence. The general speed limits are:
- Built-up urban areas: 50km/h
- Rural roads: 90km/h
- Motorways: 120km/h
- Consumption of drugs like heroin, cocaine and the others are not considered criminal.
- Portugal is a safe country but you have to be careful because of petty crimes.
- Tourists that are going hiking should be careful because of cliff erosion.
