Tourist Visa from Kenya to Iceland

  • The Iceland tourist visa allows Kenyans to visit Iceland for recreation, relaxation and sightseeing purposes.
  • The Iceland tourist visa is also known as a Schengen 'Type C' visa.
  • The tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
  • Iceland is a popular holiday destination with volcanic and glacial landscapes, it is located in the North Atlantic Ocean
  • Foreigners allowed to study under three months with the Iceland tourist visa.
  • Travelers are required to provide travel health insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Iceland and the entire Schengen area.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for entire period of stay in Iceland must be provided.
  • Foreigners must attest owning an amount of subsistence of 4,000 ISK or 28.83€/day to the Icelandic Embassy or Consulate. While, the amount of money required for each entry to the territory of Iceland is 20,000 ISK or 144.13€.
  • Kenyans traveling with amount over 10,000 Euros or equivalent must be declared upon entry to Iceland
  • You might be asked to submit your tax reports. If someone is responsible for providing you with the funds, you will need a letter from the entity or person.
  • Iceland has a low crime rate with rare instances of violent crime. Using common sense will go a long way in ensuring you do not become a victim.
  • Though whale meat and other products that utilize whale parts are sold throughout Iceland, foreigners are not allowed to export it back to their country. 
  • Seizure of the goods and possible criminal prosecution should be expected if the rules are violated. Penalties include jail time and fines of up to $10,000.
  • Extreme care should be taken when driving in rural areas during the winter when daylight hours are limited and the weather and road conditions can change rapidly.
  • Many routes in the interior of the country are impassable until July due to muddy conditions and swollen rivers caused by snow melt.
  • Public transportation in Iceland is safe and reliable.
