Visa from Kenya to India Description

  • Kenya passport holders can visit India for a period of 90 days by applying for an electronic visa(e-visa). The e-visa costs about US$80.
  • Kenyans are advised to have applied for the e-visa, at least four days before departure. 
  • The e-visa allows foreigners to gain entry to India through 28 airports and 5 seaports.
  • Intending visitors are to show a valid passport of a minimum of 6 months beyond the date of India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Tourists from Kenya are advised to get vaccinated against yellow fever and other common illnesses before travelling to India.
  • Travellers from Kenya with firearms require an Import Permit from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in India.
  • The import and export of foreign currencies are unlimited, however, amounts exceeding $ 5,000 or its equivalent would be declared.
  • Also, the importation and exportation of the local currency of India are set at a maximum of INR 25,000.
  • Tourists will be required to show proof of a confirmed means of accommodation for their entire stay in India. This could be in the form of a sponsor letter from a host living in the country or a hotel reservation.
  • Visitors will also be asked to show a recent bank statement has as evidence of having enough money to spend while in India.
  • Minors visiting alone are required to have a consent letter signed by both parents or guardian.
  • Kenyans paying a visit to India with pets (dogs and cats) must be accompanied by a veterinarian health certificate issued in Kenya.
  • Intending visitors can get to India from any international airport in Kenya. There are international airports in Nairobi and Mombasa.
  • Kenya Airways, Emirates, Air India, Ethiopian and Qatar Airways are some of the airlines that fly from Kenya to India.
